Notes: Against the recommendation of one of my betas, I have decided not to change the verb "mif," something that doesn't appear in any dictionaries it seems, but which I gladly give to all as a Christmas present. Along with its partner, "tif", I think it should belong among the terms that describe how black and orange pekoe tea is served. "Mif" refers to the practice of putting the milk into the cup first, then adding the tea; "tif" is the reverse, and there are those with strong opinions on which makes tea taste better. So practise its verb usage all you wish and perhaps we will see it added in about three years time to a dictionary somewhere. And to my special Slasha recipient, my fondest wishes that you enjoy this little story.

Title: Infinite Possibilities, part 1

Summary: The request was for non-historical AU. Sometimes AU is a big change, sometimes it's small. In a universe of infinite possibilities, there are a lot of things that could be different, but the important things sometimes remain the same. It's 2009. Billy is almost 30, Dom is 22. Billy never went to school, Peter Jackson never got Lord of the Rings off the ground, and Foreign Country never broke up.
Notes: I struggled with whether to make this set in 2009 or 1999, but the world has changed a surprising amount since then, and I decided to leave it very firmly in the present. Any other events, like the television shows Dom is in, are relative to his age, and not the chronological time that they happened in the non-AU, also known as the Real World. Here, you might say the world really does revolve around them. Approximately 50 pages, 28,000 words. Apparently building a world just a little different from our own takes some time.
