slashababy -- the LotR RPS story exchange since 2002 -- are now open! A chance to give and get a fanfic gift, and share with the whole fandom!
The rules are the same as previous years -- all participants get an assignment to write for another participant, matched so that everyone has pairings and themes that appeal to them. Each story should be at least 1,000 words, though there is no maximum: some people have written epics (good ones!). The stories are due on Boxing Day, and we'll post them on New Year's Eve. Everyone gets a chance to read the stories and leave comments, including guessing who wrote them, as we won't reveal the authors until January 6.

Requested genres: (well, some of this is only sort of a genre :)) contemporary AUs, NZ timed fic, smut, and/or est!relationship. I'm not much for angst, h/c and really kinky stuff.

Requested pairings: Any combination of Billy, Dom, Elijah, Viggo, Liv, Cait, Miranda, Ian McKellen, Sean B., paired however you like, or even as part of an ensemble fic if that is what moves you. In terms of gen characters there is no one I dislike-- I just don't have strong feelings about slashing/pairing them up. My OTP remains Billy/Dom but I've read and written and enjoyed other pairings as well.
Requested genres: Anything but angst/violence. Other than that it's all good.
Pairings and/or genres you absolutely will not write: I can't be counted on for any kind of specific AU since my genre knowledge is really lacking. Given the history of this exchange I almost feel silly for saying this but just in case-- no horror/dark/violent genres. I don't write Sean A, and outside of the list of characters above I don't really have a good feel for how I would write anyone else. Within that list it's all fine.

Requested pairings: any M/M from LOTR, and this year, I wouldn't mind a hobbit of any stripe with a Big Man that might include Karl and/or uber sexy Marton without his blonde wig.
Requested genres: PG to N17, anything you're comfortable with including AUs, RPS, FPS.

Requested pairings: My favorite pairings are VigBean, Viggo/Billy, and Viggo or Bean with Karl; I'd take anything with Viggo, Bean, Billy or Karl paired with anyone except Orlando, Astin or John (the big exception would be Billy/Orlando)
Requested genres: I can take some angst but it must be resolved by the end (I'm definitely a happily-ever-after kind of girl). Would prefer the focus be on the relationship and not just on sex. No character death or dom/sub or bdsm. Love NZ fic and AUs so very flexible there.

Requested Genre: NC-17 fic or hard R fic that is heavy on the kink make me smile. BDSMy kink is especially good, though I’m more fond of elements of that than the highly ritualized D/s exchanges. If those things aren’t you’re thing, I'm also fine with non-BDSMy fics that are heavy on the passion and sensuality. I’m not much for schmoop, curtain fic, men who act like teenaged girls, or overly cute and cuddly nicknames or dialogue. Love and relationships are fine; preciousness, not so much.
